How respecting authority connects to peace, stability, and a flourishing life

This is the fifth week of our summer sermon series entitled Guardrails. In this series, we are covering one of the ten commandments every Sunday. We’re looking at how each of God’s commands are boundaries that create beauty, fences that reduce fear and expand freedom, and guardrails that increase protection. These commands flow from the heart of a loving Father who wants abundant life for His children. This week we cover the fifth commandment and how Jesus shows us that honoring your earthly parents is deeply connected to honoring our Heavenly Father. This commandment is a loving guardrail because it shows us how respecting authority directly connects to personal peace, stability, and a flourishing life.
