This is the ninth week of our summer sermon series entitled Guardrails. In this series, we are covering one of the ten commandments every Sunday. These commandments flow from the heart of a loving Father who wants abundant life for His children. This week we cover the commandment not to give false testimony about your neighbor. This commandment is a loving guardrail not only because it protects against the pain of being lied about, but it also keeps us from the bondage of deception. Lies lead to injustice, bondage, and broken relationships. The truth, however, leads to justice, freedom and love. Let’s watch and learn God’s heart behind the ninth commandment and how speaking the truth in love, and allowing others to speak truth to us, is what leads to growth and maturity.
