This is the seventh week of our sermon series entitled Practicing Your Faith. In this series we are looking at the spiritual practices that will help us develop a deep, interior life with God. This week we look at our first corporate spiritual practice: celebration. It’s sometimes hard to believe that celebrating is a spiritual practice. But the Bible tells us that eternity is the wedding banquet between Jesus, the Bridegroom, and the Church, His bride. In other words, eternity is full of celebration. When we practice celebration now, we bring that future reality of the Kingdom into our present day lives. Celebration is a conduit of joy, and joy should be one of the hallmarks of the Christian life. Let’s watch and learn how powerful celebration can be in our lives.
