This is the ninth week of our fall sermon series entitled “Perspectives from Prison: The Letter to the Ephesians.” In this series we are walking through Paul’s letter to the Ephesians that he wrote while under house arrest. This week we look at the second part of chapter four. In this section of the letter Paul outlines vision for what it looks like to grow in the Christian life. With the commandment to put off the old self and put on the new self, Paul addresses the necessity to leave the old way of sin behind and participate in God’s work of forming the image of Christ in us. As we do so, there is to be no gap between our beliefs and behavior, but fully integrated lives marked by love for one another. Let’s watch and learn what spiritual formation really looks like.
