Cultivate Tomorrow : Roots - Week 5

Mar 30, 2025    Mark Stephenson

This is the fifth week of our Cultivate Tomorrow: Roots series. This week Mark Stephenson addresses what the gospel does and doesn’t say about God the Father. Last week, Mark Warner addressed the reality that if we think God is distant and indifferent, then we’ll believe He doesn’t care (about us). We’ll overlook the love of God. Similarly, this week, Mark Stephenson addresses the reality that if we think God is distant and indifferent, then we could believe He doesn’t care (what we do). In other words, some Christians view God as a permissive, Santa Claus-type god. One of the best antidotes to this false view of God is what the Bible calls “the fear of the Lord.” But how can the fear of the Lord be a good thing? Let’s watch and learn what the “fear of the Lord” really means and some of the good fruit that can come from it.
