This is the fifth week of our Lenten sermon series entitled Fulfilled. In this series we are looking at how Jesus was the fulfillment of Old Testament scripture in his life, death and resurrection. This week we look at Jesus’s perspective from the cross. When Jesus cried out “My God, My God, why have you forsaken me?” what was really happening in that moment? Did Jesus doubt the goodness of God the Father? Did God the Father reject or forsake Jesus? Did the Father have to turn away from Jesus on the cross? We clear up many of these misunderstandings and address a popular teaching that may not be biblical. Let’s watch and learn how Jesus became for us the fulfillment of Psalm 22.
